This weekend we have had our house broken into. On top of the damage done to the house and my wife's Evoque (when he tried to steal it), the low life scum also disappeared with the spare keys and fobs for my 110 and 50th.

I am trying to get hold of a new ignition barrel and fob for the 50th (as just a little concerned that someone may return) but struggling to find one. Can anyone offer any assistance as to part numbers or alternatives or indeed does anyone have one sat on a shelf?

Or are there any other options i've not thought of?

Many thanks

If he has the keys then I would think he's either coming back or would follow you to a car park (paranoid, I know, right?). For now, box it in with other vehicles (I do this every night - mine's boxed in with two cars), and PM Romadog, as I'm sure he'll know the numbers. I am also sending you a PM with something else you should know.

Sorry to hear about this ... Not a nice experience !

I think depending on how much you use it, I would just take the steering wheel off for a few weeks !!

Certainly a deterrent!

As an aside I've been thinking of a quick release wheel to help with security ., must get around to it

Right - thanks for vote of confidence.

Look here

Not sure of part number. Best to go to dealership and give them your Vin and / or registration so they can confirm correct switch for V8.

Will look around further and come back if I find correct one

Many thanks for the help and suggestions.

Dealer just drawing blanks at the moment. So will ask again and see if they can provide a part number.

I think the part number is QRF100860 but is coming up as obsolete.

I lost the keys to my 50th and dismantled the switch and adjusted the barrel so that a new key worked. This did mean that the old keys would still work. I believe a professional locksmith could cut you a new key and adjust the barrel so that only it would work. A bonus would be that you could use the new Defender type key blank.

At the same time you could change the door handles to the later type and have the same key for the doors and ignition.

That comes up at Paddocks (and Rimmer, and Craddock) 174
http://www.paddockspares.com/qrf100860-steering-column-lock-petrol-shift-interlock-from-va134378.html

But a US website says that this part number only goes up to 1997.

Might be a good opportunity to convert it to a push-button start!

I also came up with QRF100860. I have asked Rimmer to confirm if they can supply one as apparently obsolete (also emailed craddock but no reply). I gave them chassis number and they say part needed is LR077439!

It looks like this fits later diesels so I'm not convinced!

I may try and get hold of qrf100860 and chance it

Not having much joy on the plipoer either - anyone know if they are 433 or 315mhz?
