Hi folks,
Some of you made some great recommendations about replacement exhausts for my Defender 50th.

However on calling Rimmer Bros, they told me NO aftermarket cat Y-peice sections fit the 50th because they all foul the gearbox cross member (something like that anyway). They said the ONLY one that fits is the OEM LR pipe, which costs £1800 plus VAT.

Have any of you replaced your catalytic converter section of your exhaust, and if so what product did you use?
Thanks
rob

Salesmanship, this part fits fine and dandy it's exactly the same as the LR part.

So when I called Rimmer Bros and they said it wouldn't fit the Defender50th on account of it being an Automatic, that's salesmanship? I'm baffled.

Hi,

My Cats were removed a long time ago (since nearly new) by the previous owner, due to the supercharger a straight through s/s was fitted.

I’ve owned my 50Th for five years now and it’s passes the MOT test everytime. I guess you need to find a nice MOT station, who appreciates what we are driving.

The reason they were removed was because of the heat generated by the super charger and the CATS were blocking the flow. There are other 50Th’s who have removed the CATS and also seem to find a nice garage Wink

In another post someone was talking about engine modifications? What extra BHP would a super charger generate please? Interested to know.....
