I purchased this system earlier this week & on arrival the tail pipe fits perfectly but the back box is 3-4 inches too long - before we start to cut this has anyone any experience of the system.

Mine came from Rimmers, I didn't have to cut anything, bolted it straight on

looking at the rimmer bros website LR1126SS has the following info

Specifications and additional product information
Defender 83-06 - 90 ONLY All 3.9L V8 50th anniversary models with catalyst 1998 on - 2 piece, Cat Back - Quantity Required - 1

So should fit without a problem.

I'd get back in touch with your supplier.

Thanks - my 50th is a Japanese version which I’ve had for 2 years now so don’t know if the exhaust has been changed somehow over the years. We replaced the middle section last year with no issue - we’re cutting and shutting to make fit so a bit of work but should be OK.

Though I appreciate that doesn't add anything to the conversation, since it seems to be what you have. This version is the same middle and rear as the original. There are other versions which have different dimensions middle and rear, but work when bought together - it sounds like you now have a mix of the two.

Thanks for the info - we’ll have a look when we get the Defender out on lockdown on a few weeks.
