GB 169 was on display at the Great Yorkshire Show with a company called Twisted Performance from Thirsk. Advertised on their website (www.Twisted performance.co.uk) at £10,500 but priced at £9999 at the show. High mileage (90,000 ish) and a bit scruffy inside but overall didnt seem a bad vehicle for the price. Was LPG converted.
Does anyone know of this company. I need some paint work doing on GB 043 and they are fairly close to me. Any comments appreciated |

As to your paint work you need a company who are perfectionists preparing and spraying on alloy as a normal sprayer might not understand how important the prep work is before spraying .
I know some people have attempted spraying there 50th's there self's with spray can's and this will only ever end in a very poor job
You will be better off driving further and paying a bit more for that perfect finish _________________ Ducati 996

| Give Patrick @ Maddison 4x4 a call (the other side of Thirsk). He doesn't have a paintshop but has one nearby. |

I know and have bought from Twisted Performance. Seem ok to me and they know their stuff as far as tuning especially TD5. the boss Charles top guy really helpful although always busy so hard to catch! I think they farm out the paint work side though? So as said previous for a top spray job search and ask locally and you'll find a good bodyshop. Don't go for cheapest and don't pay over the odds _________________ 2008 SVX 90 SOFT TOP

Many thanks for the comments on paintwork - much appreciated. Anybody any views what I should be paying for a top rate full re-spray?

£2500 - £3000 is a fair price if your prepared to strip the 50th down yourself as time is money and they will just charge you to do the same.
A weekend is enough time to strip a 50th , If you want any advice pm me and i will give you my number as i have stripped a fair few Defenders in my time .
You also need to be thinking ahead as if your going to the trouble of a full respray then you need to be thinking of replacing most of the bolts for s/s torx bolts and replacing the chequred plate refurbing the wheels. powder coating the front bumper, roll cage rear nas step and trust me the list goes on and on , but allow 5k for the respray and extras and you will have a good as new 50th ready for the show's _________________ Ducati 996

I'm suprised it's still for sale or was until recently
I drove it last summer (2009) and could have had it for £9k
It was a bit scruffy on the inside as you say (because they'd stripped it to copy the cubby box & seats for someone else)
Service history seemed ok |

I went to look at this a few months ago and it was pretty tatty, with the cubby box cover still missing.T here was a large hole in the rear floor with a plate pop-riveted over it. The petrol tank was missing and the bracketry cut I believe, I'm not sure if the plan had been to install an extra LPG tank there.
I didn't test drive it or look at it's documentation as it clearly wasn't what I was looking for.
