Hi all

Ok so new radiator
new temp sensor genuine
wiring checked all good
new thermostat 82 degrees not 87 as standard
antifreeze
wetter water
deionised water

so on a long run temp so long as im moving say 30mph engine is fine
temp reading half way
however slow and the guage creeps up then goes off the scale
Engine does run hot but as do all tover v8
as soon as im moving temp drop in seconds back to say 3/4
viscus fan running flat out
wetter water drops temp byt 20 degrees

so me thinks air lock some where
heater throwing hot air no problem
top up tank full

if i throw the car fast into a bend again the temp guage goes straight of the scale then almost immediately drops back down to 3/4

so air lock i presume but cant get any more in the system

any tips on how to chake this irritation?

Mines the same
Ok so when you go on a longer run does your temp then drop back down to standard?
Mine does
Even after new rad 60degree stat etc
I surmise the problem is an air lock
Park on an incline so drivers side is down
Once ok to do so open filler bottle and fill completely
Leave cap off and run engine
As stat opens hopefully bubbles and then top up and seal

Also for everyone use Wetter water from Amazon or similar outlets
Pink fluid and will drop your coolant temp by 20 degrees

For those with tuned engines
You can get a 60 degree stat for a Mercury Boat engine that fits perfectly

The v8 makes that much heat you’ll find perfect for UK temp

Also with the stat make sure it has a 3mm hole in it
If it has the auto bleed float remove it
You don’t need it and at least if your water pump fails at least you can limp home
